This is a support page to the multimedia chapter Travelling Waves in the volume Waves and Sound. It's here mainly because we rather liked these film clips, made in one of the campus quadrangles.
Jacaranda blooms were helpful to visualise the water surface when we filmed waves radiating and reflecting in two dimensions. We then decided to collect our clips on one page for reasons more æsthetic than scientific.
This and the preceding clip were shot in one of the courts of the Old Main Building. The sculpture is by Tom Bass and called Fountain Figure.
The quad bounded by the Morvern-Brown Building also has a jacaranda and a pond.
The purple flood also serves to remind students that it's exam time.
